Last Sunday (on the last official day of summer) I decided to take the kids for one last swimming trip. It was still hot and it seemed like the perfect way to end the summer for us.
Anne loved jumping off the diving board and searching for toys on the bottom of the pool while Liam enjoyed watching her. She's gotten to be a really good little swimmer this summer. I keep thinking she would enjoy swimming for a sport, but I'm just not ready to commit to another thing that requires after school practice. Between piano and dance we're already running like crazy!
Some of my friends let their kids do everything while others limit to one extra activity at a time. I think I land somewhere in the middle. I was the kid that wanted to do everything--Anne is like this too. I also want her to excel at something and I feel like if she's doing too many things we'll just be doing everything "okay" and not doing anything really well. Does that make sense?
What are your thoughts on extra activities/sports?
