Everyone keeps asking me what we've got planned for the summer (thanks to teaching I get the next two months off!)...well, the answer to that is pretty much whatever we want.  We don't have any major plans or vacations for this summer so we're just taking things in stride and seeing what fun pops up here and there.  I'm hoping to get to the beach at some point, but that's yet to be set in stone.  Do you know of a condo for cheap???
The one thing I have been looking forward to about summer is just having some time at home.  There are lots of organizing/cleaning projects that need to be done and I wanted to spend time with my kiddos.  I'm a constant cleaner upper...I usually can't stand the toys and dvds to be strewn all over the floor, but I'm trying to chill out a little and enjoy playing with my kids.  I have found that when I get down on the floor with them and play, it's lots more fun for them and me.

I know everyone always says this, but kids really do grow up too fast.  A friend of ours once said that at this point in life we're living long days and short years.  I can't tell you how true this is for us.  I just want to try and soak up my kids while their young.
I'm thankful that God is constantly reminding me of how fleeting this life is.

  1. As I watched my oldest daughter (21) pull out of our driveway yesterday, I was reminded of this very idea. It truly seems like yesterday that she was in elem. school.

    1. Oh my. I always think about that Subaru commercial where the daughter is asking for the keys then all of a sudden she's 18 and driving away...so sad!
