6TH GRADE

I have the privilege of working and sending Anne to a wonderful school that is in the heart of our historical district. And it just so happens to only be a block from our loft.  The past two years I've been a little unsettled and moving up with the same group of students.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE these kids but I was hoping to get somewhere and be a little more settled this coming year.
I found out near the end of the year that our 5th and 6th grade teachers would not be returning.  I began to consider teaching older children.  It's always been a scary thought since I've mostly worked with kindergarten through second grades, but something was telling me to go for it.  I talked with my principal and quickly my excitement grew, and after much prayer and consideration I decided to go for it.
So while I'm trying to enjoy these two and a half months of summer, I can't help dreaming about next year and all the fun we'll have.

HOW DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW?

Our students worked so hard this spring planting our organic garden.  I worked in my classroom yesterday, even though school is out for summer, and had to go down and take a peek at how the garden's doing.  I am amazed at how beautiful everything is looking.  There's a whole group of people giving of their time to make this happen for our school.  I'm so thankful we have such dedicated parents and community!

Our students will be selling fruits and veggies we've grown starting June 13 at our local farmer's market.  We would love for you all to come out and enjoy an afternoon downtown and buy some yummy treats to take home!

A LITTLE STROLL

We went for a walk to the library today.  I intended to get Anne's library card, but somehow brought a piece of mail with our PO address instead of our home address...typical.  So, we'll be making this walk again on Thursday.  Anne is pumped about having her own card and checking out her own books.  She's such a big girl.  She even insists on pushing Liam's stroller when we're out.  Don't worry, I am always right there and always push across the streets :)

This was right after Liam had a blow out in his diaper that I changed right there in the stroller.  I felt like super mom when it didn't even get on his clothes!
I'm sure we'll be taking lots of these walks this summer, but next time hopefully we'll leave before noon.  It's already getting so hot!

SUMMER IS HERE

Today is really our first official day of summer.  I'm not counting the end of last week because it was so crazy with Anne's dance recital going on.  Yesterday Anne made a list of things she wants to do this week.  It lined up perfectly with the list I was planning to make.  I love summer!

Then this morning I snapped a few pictures of the kids.  Anne was being so sweet and reading to Liam.  I love that most of the time I don't even need to ask her to help with him.  It's obvious that she is smitten with her baby brother as much as we are.
I'd say we have already begun "having fun."  Happy Memorial Day!

CONVERSATIONS WITH LIAM

Conversations with this little guy are the sweetest.  We sent this video to Michael at work last week.  I'm pretty sure it made his day...wouldn't it yours!?
I can already see his little personality coming out and we just love him so much!

OUR NOT SO TINY DANCER

This little guy already loves watching his big sister perform!
Today was dress rehearsal for Anne's ballet recital.  I'm in love with her costume this year...it has such a vintage feel.  And I'm so glad she loves to dance.  Before this year she could really take it or leave it and would prefer to stay home if she was doing something she'd rather do.  Now she can't wait to go and is even asking to add tap next year.  I'll take ballet and tap over cheer ANYDAY!  No offense to cheerleaders...I just don't want to spend my time at competitions every weekend if I don't have to!

LIFE LATELY

It makes me sad that I haven't been blogging very much the past several months.  I have seriously missed it.  I guess life has gotten busier and this just took the back seat.  Now that school is out I am making it a priority.
This blog is my little corner of the internet to tuck away memories that our family is making every day.  And even if no one else is reading, this will be a place for me to write about what's on my heart and share bits and pieces of our lives that I never want to forget.

This big girl graduated from K5 this past week.  She is such a smart girl and a MESS!  We are gonna have lots of fun together this summer!
Oh and this guy...he is just the sweetest.  chubby, adorable, and I could just eat him up!
