Christmas morning this year was pretty magical. Anne got her dream doll Molly McEntire and Liam got lots of fun toys, but preferred the paper.
It was so fun to spend time with our family.  Anne and Michael sang a few carols for us then Papa read the Christmas story. We ate a yummy breakfast of sausage balls, cinnamon rolls, and Gran's world famous blueberry muffins.
I'm so thankful for the holidays and times that we get to spend together with people we love most.

I had really good intentions of making/sending Christmas cards this year.  If that would have happened you might have seen a few of these photos on them.  My sister has such a talent photographing children and families and I'm so thankful she captured my kids so sweetly.  They really are sweet most of the time :)
We've had one of our best Christmases ever this year.  Liam loved the wrapping paper more than any toy he received and Anne hasn't stopped playing with her American Girl doll Molly.  But more than gifts, we had such a great day with our family and friends that are like family.  We feel so incredibly blessed.
Merry Christmas everyone!

9 months

Obviously a little behind on blogging.  Liam is now ten months old.  Maybe I'll actually post those pictures while he's still that age!
This little stinker is on the verge of walking and giving me many heart attacks daily!

It's been quite busy around these parts lately.  Lily and I ran our first 5k since we've started running last Saturday and I'm proud to say that we finished under our time goal!
We've also spent the past several days nursing a sick Liam.  He had to have a minor surgery to get tubes in his ears but seems to be MUCH better now.
Oh, how I miss blogging.  Sorry for the sporadic posts.  One day I'll get my computer fixed and be at it least I hope to be!

Today we had a going away party for our school secretary.  I made this carrot cake and I just had to share.  It was the perfect fall dessert...full of coconut, nuts, pineapple, and spices.

I think it could become my specialty.

Today was open house at the Antique Mall.  It will never disappoint to get you in the Christmas spirit.  I swear, I could have gone straight home and started decorating!  Andrea always has the most beautiful things and her sense of styling is stunning.  Can you come decorate my house please!?

The I Live in Laurel books also went on sale today.  Anne helped Mrs. Karen and Adam at the signing and had a blast.  We were blown away by the response of everyone.  It is a wonderful story, and one that every child in Laurel should read.

We enjoyed lots of festive goodies and even brought home a few happies, but I can't wait to head back over and shop when it's a little less crowded!

We don't get to Jackson too often but when we do we usually find a new restaurant to try. Today the Hathorn's introduced us to Jaco's Tacos. And it did not disappoint. The veggie taco plate was just too yummy!
Can't wait until the next time Hathorn's!!!

We jumped in the car as soon as Michael got off and headed to Jackson to see our dear friends THe Hathorn's.
We've been entertained by the kiddos and had some heartfelt conversation in just the few hours together.
I'm so thankful for friendships that pick right up even when we don't see each other often.

It's pretty much impossible to take a non blurry picture of this baby.  He's constantly on the move.  Tonight he stood without holding on to anything for about 5 seconds.  And everybody is thinking we'll have a walker by Christmas.  I'm wishing time would be still for just a bit and let me revel in right now when life is so good and this baby wants nothing more than my attention.

We had the best time with our family themed Halloween costumes this year.  It was too perfect to pass up the opportunity to be Goldilocks and the three bears.  I made Michael and my bear head out of paper mache.  It turned out really cool, but maybe not the most practical for wearing trick or treating.  It was pretty hot and difficult to see through the small holes.
Oh well,  at least we got some fun pictures!

We did warn Goldilocks of  breaking and entering....hoping we nipped that one in the bud.

I hope you all had a great night of trick or treating as well!

Trick or treating got moved to tomorrow night instead of Thursday due to possible thunderstorms.  This meant I was down to crunch time to make mine and Michael's bear masks. I'm hoping these will turn out...fingers crossed!!

They will have to dry over we'll see in the morning.

Then we had a tea party and a round of Monopoly Jr.
Not too bad for a Tuesday night.  We sure know how to pack in the fun!

Over the past four weeks Lily and I have been doing the CT5K program.  It's made me so happy to be running again and I'm really excited to finally be seeing some progress.  The runs are getting longer and I can feel my endurance getting stronger.

I went for a run tonight, since I hit snooze too many times to go before school this morning.  I'm kind of glad it worked out though because it was the perfect weather and downtown felt deserted and a little eerie...very halloweenish.  Before it was over it had started to drizzle a little which made for the perfect cool down.

As I finished my last five minute stretch of running, I noticed this cute little number in the window of Elegant Evenings.  Wouldn't it be fun to dress up and wear on a fancy date!?
I'm thinking this may need to happen soon!

So, this kids turned eight months old about three weeks ago...pure craziness.
He's the happiest, snuggliest baby there ever was!

It's getting kind of difficult to take pictures in this chair because every time I walk away he leans forward and I have to try to catch him before he hits the floor.  Obviously, he thinks this is hilarious.
So, we decided to take a few on the floor before there was a head injury.

Dad tried to make him laugh and yelled really loudly scaring him half to death!
But don't worry, he was back smiling in no time.

Some fun facts about this babe:
-he is eating every thing I put in front of far he's not picky at all!
-he weighs 21 1/2 pounds
-he thinks his big sister hung the moon and laughs every time he catches a glimpse of her
-he's crawling everywhere and has even stood by himself several times
-just cut his fourth tooth...two on bottom and two on top
-he wakes up in the best mood every's hard to be sad about waking up at 5:30-6 am when he's smiling and giddy to see you!

Basically, we just love him to pieces!
