Things are still really early, but I couldn't wait to share.
We're all just a little excited over here.

Thanks to my sweet sister Brooke for these amazing photos!

Yesterday we took a girls shopping day to Jackson. It was a lovely day filled with lots of great flea markets and a stop in Fondren. (thanks for the suggestions Steph!) It's where they filmed part of The Help. This whole area feels like you've stepped back in time 50 years. We had lunch at Babalu then went to Brent's Drugs for ice cream after. So so good!
All you Mississippians need to make a trip here if you haven't!

This weekend consisted of a car show downtown, going to our first ballet, and a huge Father's Day celebration! Fun, fun, fun!
This man.  He's such a wonderful dad...and husband.  I'm constantly in awe of how he leads our family and loves us no matter what silly things we do.  I'm so very thankful that Anne has a godly example and will hopefully look for that some day in her future husband.
We have lots to be thankful for.

We've officially been living here for 6 months and for some reason the living room wall has been super intimidating.  It was just so big.  I just couldn't commit to anything to hang on it.  Today I just decided to go for it.  I had all of these great paintings (mostly done by my BIL) and just went for it...and I love it!
I'm mad that I waited this long, but glad that we don't have any more huge bare walls around!
It's definitely a happy Friday!

Anne and I got to enjoy a Festival South event yesterday morning at the Hattiesburg library.  This was a wonderful kids event that she and I both enjoyed!  If you're in the Hattiesburg area, I definitely encourage you to check their schedule and try to make some of the events.  Most are free or are very  inexpensive.
For a while, every time we asked Anne what instrument she would like to play, she randomly said the tuba.  It was fun for her to actually get to hear one played today!

It's been a fun past few days. I'm so thankful it's summer and Monday never comes!

I didn't really like pimento cheese growing up.  I always saw it in those little containers in the grocery store but it never looked very appetizing.  A few years ago, a friend made some homemade and I decided to give it a try...well, I've never turned back.  Now I'm a pimento cheese eating machine.  Okay, maybe not quite that gung ho over it, but I do love it now!  I used my friends recipe and tweaked it a little and this is what I've come up with.  It's incredibly easy and keeps for a couple of weeks in the fridge.
Here's what I used.
I like to blend the sharp with a colby/jack.  And I don't mind the Winn Dixie brand's just as good as the other stuff to me.
I grate half of each block of cheese, but you could certainly use both blocks...just depends on how much you're wanting to make.  Since I'm the only pimento cheese eater at our house, I use half.
This is also a great job to get the kids involved in.
The roasted red peppers instead of regular pimentos is really the best idea ever.  I diced about 1/4 cup (or maybe a little less.)
Add about two tablespoons of mayonaise and a dash of Tony's (or just salt and pepper) and mix well.
Now you've got yourself some pimento cheese.  Cover and refrigerate.
Now if you want something really yummy, make yourself a grilled sandwich with this stuff.  It's seriously my favorite lunch!
Hope you enjoy!

Our sweet friend Hope was kind enough to invite us to her mama's to pick blueberries this morning.  We woke up extra early to try and beat the heat.  Thankfully there was a nice breeze blowing the entire time.
We picked for a solid two hours and got about two gallons of berries.  These little guys are definitely worth the hard work and will make my morning cereal a little more interesting!
Anne tired quickly and took to hanging out with Champ.  He was good company for her.

Something about berry picking just screams summertime to me.  Now I'm itching to start putting up lots of fruits and veggies.  If I only had a garden!

We came back from vacation and entered into what seems like a weekend whirlwind.
This past weekend consisted of grilling and telling ghost stories on the roof, homemade pizza and ice cream making with Adam and Lily, watching two of the sweetest people get married, and lots of theater practice for Alice in Wonderland.
We are loving having these guys so close!
Oh, and we got a new kitten.  She's seriously the sweetest little thing ever.
