me and him

 We've got something special.

Last night, we had a little date night.
We drove to Jackson when he got off work, dropped Anne off with my mom, and arrived with minutes to spare to see The Civil Wars.  I tried to take photos with my phone, but it was too dark and my phone camera is really terrible.  The Civil Wars were amazing.  so good.

After the show, we drove home and listened to music that we've collected over the last 9 years.  Some we haven't listened to in years.  We didn't even get out of the car right away when we got home.  If you know me well, you know this is so unlike me.
When we finally did get inside, we picked up the guitar and sang for a bit before my eyes started to close despite the coffee I drank at 10 pm.

It's fun to have this kind of time together every now and then, but when I laid my head on that pillow I could only think of one thing missing. Anne.  I didn't like the fact that she wasn't in the next room sleeping sweetly. I couldn't go give her one more kiss and make sure she was covered and all of her limbs were inside the bed.  It was like part of us was missing.  I really do love this life that God has blessed us with.  I'm trying my best to savor every moment, because I swear it seems like yesterday she was that tiny baby we brought home from the hospital.
