Inspiration to read

I have to be honest...I haven't finished reading a book since last summer when I read the Harry Potter series.  I am just a little ashamed of that.  I do consider myself a reader, but lately it's been blogs.  I always have a really hard time finding material I'd like to read...I think I have to be really cautious.  I get sooooooo caught up with the characters and the story that sometimes it takes over my emotional life...NOT always a good thing.  :)  So, last night Michael downloaded Jane Eyre on my phone.  I'm not sure if I can actually read a book on my phone, but I decided I'd give it a try and if I don't like it I'll go buy the book.

So, if you have a favorite book, I would love to hear about it!

  1. I loved the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society! My book club read it last summer, and I think it's one of the few books EVERYONE has finished in time for our meetings!
One of my all time favorites is "Till We Have Faces" by C.S. Lewis. It's the retelling of the myth of Psyche & Cupid and is the only book I have read every year since the first time I read it (5 years ago!) It's ripe with imagery of beauty, tyranny, religion, and the complexity of human and human-divine relationships.
I think both of those are difficult NOT to finish. :)

  2. Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers is my all time favorite book. It is a parallel to the book of Hosea. Anything by Francine Rivers is good.
