new spaces...

this afternoon I changed the vanity table/desk in my bedroom into my creative workspace!  I am super excited and feeling very motivated to create something...I'm not completely finished, I still have to hang the cork board and get some inspiring pictures on it.

now if I can just find some time to use it!  Hope everyone has a happy Monday!!!

pink eye

all day yesterday, I kept seeing the goop in Anne's eyes....I thought maybe it was from the cold. well, this morning her eyes are red, swollen, and pretty much glued together.  Probably pink eye, so we are going to try to go to the doc this morning.  It makes me so sad for her.

We did get some REALLY cute bunnies made to come soon.  I didn't get to work on my barrettes yet, hopefully today. :)

girls night in.

so, Anne and I ended up staying home this weekend instead going to the coast with Michael. When I found out we were going to be traveling and hour one way to the church they were playing, it didn't sound too fun...SOOOOO we had a lovely afternoon eating with my mom then a short visit at Lee's for some coffee to warm my bones! Anne got an Ariel umbrella yesterday, and she was super excited that she got to use it today...i wish i would have had my was definitely picture worthy to see her walking down Oak Street with her umbrella. Once we made it home, it was a mad dash to to get a warm bath and into our jammies! So far, we have watched The Swan Princess and are now watching Cars. We are missing our daddy, but having a very fun night!

Tomorrow we are planning to head north to Gigi's to hopefully have a productive day for hello dearie... it is so hard to get anything done during the week with school, but thank goodness for weekends!

Hope you all have a lovely night!

spongebob legos.

today has been kinda blah...this week has actually been kinda blah. I have this sinus junk that won't go away....sigh. BUT tomorrow is Friday, and we are going to the coast because Michael is playing music! I am thinking this will be a much needed trip away from ordinary life, and i am looking forward to hanging out with friends that we haven't seen in a while! I really want to take Anne to the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center. I heard it was great. Have any of you been there?

One of my students told me today that he was getting spongebob legos, and I should come over to play...I know I am a grown up and this shouldn't have been a temptation, but there was something in me that longed to play as a child and not have ANY worries. I think I was born a worrier...

Update on the fam:
Anne: she is so grown up these days....she wants to do everything by herself! This makes me a little sad cause I miss being so needed. She is having a birthday next month--turning 3! She keeps going back and forth with word world or a princess party, but I think the princess party has won! So if any of you have fun suggestions for the party...PLEASE share! I think Aunt B and her friends may dress up as princesses and that'll be fun! She is also learning to ride her tricycle she got from Santa since we have had such pretty weather lately!
Michael: he is a busy little bee these days. He has started violin lessons-which he is loving! He is taking two classes for his PhD...and teaching full time! whew, I'm tired just thinking about it! I love this man, though...even though we haven't got to have a date night in who knows how long...(if you want to baby sit, let me know! haha)
me: I am just trying to adjust still to being in a new class after Christmas. It's really been a good change, though...this is such a great class of students! Cyndi and I are sewing when we can...which is not nearly as much as we would like. In the mean time, I am thinking too much about what may be in store for next year...change is so hard for me, but I think it is necessary right now. I just want to glorify the Lord and please Him! I HATE making important decisions!!!

Thanks to everyone for reading about our somewhat boring/exciting lives...we love you all!

I couldn't resist to post these cute little pics of Anne...

miss priss...

big girl.

blowing her mac and cheese...

this girl loves her princesses...

What a fantastic weekend...

I will start by saying I got SO SO much accomplished yesterday...I believe I will always list my goals on here...Cyndi cut out about 14 new bunnies yesterday and we got the majority of their legs, arms, and ears sewn and turned. Then I decided to make a bag out of canvas material...I am not quite finished with it because I want to applique on it...but here is a before pic. (the serger made this super easy! I am ready to make another really soon!)

I also got to try out my mom's cookie press...that thing was so fun!

Today has been busy, but very fun! Church this morning was great..I love all the CPCC people!!! You are great! Then Brooke and I had a sister day! (She finally fit me into her busy schedule) We went to eat lunch at Chili's, then to Target and Best buy. We then decided that we would go see a movie...well, I wanted to see Avatar or The Book of Eli, but Brooke really wanted to see this movie called The Lonely Bones that I had never heard of....I told her, "I do not like scary movies" she said, "it's just a mystery, it's not gonna be scary.." I said ok. (worst mistake EVER!) Although, it really is a beautiful movie, I was crying and so upset the whole time! It is not a movie for any parent to see...I just wanted to come home and hug my baby girl. After, we had to cheer ourselves up so we listened to some good tunes and had to make the weekly run to the grocery store...We really had a great time -minus the movie.

Oh, then we got home to watch the last 6 minutes of the Saints game...I am not really a football fan at all, but it is in my blood to pull for the Saints. I can remember as a child, my grandmother would always watch them and pace the room when the game was close....ol' Ida Bell.

Hope you all had as much fun as me this we are off to another Monday...I am gonna think happy thoughts!

just call me a debbie downer....

It's Thursday night! This is a really great thing, because tomorrow is FRIDAY!!! I thought about it tonight and decided my favorite days of the week are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday...once Sunday rolls around I am full of dread for Monday. I know this is no way to live my life, but at the same time I don't feel like I can fight it. It's just the way things are right now. BUT, I am learning to take things as they come. The Lord is giving me EVERY thing I need, not only to just get by, but to live life abundantly. I am so very thankful for my wonderful family...Michael Trest is the most caring, compassionate person I will ever know. Anne makes me forget all my worries and just wants to dance! The Lord is good!

So, since last weekend I have been in a kind of "funk". I really want to take better pictures of the hello dearie products, but have not been too successful--which I have not had too much time to devote to the matter. I am not going to let it get me down, though. I am going to look at it as a goal. And I feel there is only one way to go-UP!

I feel like this is the most depressing post ever.....sorry. I will try to cheer up and have a happy post soon!

**I think I need a new tattoo....this could cheer me up! :)

our newest faces...

We have decided that our bunnies need a little personality, so some of them are getting new faces and names! Oh so fun!!! Here are our newest friends...

This is George and he is not too happy about being all dressed up...(he's my new favorite!)

This is Lavender...

This is Priscilla....

This is Beth...her dress is hand pieced patchwork.

This is Jane...I think she is a sweet little school girl.

This is Izzy...

Oh, they do make me smile!

Happy Monday!

Hello all! Hope you are all having a wonderful Monday! We have had a glorious weekend filled with lots of sewing, family time, and staying up way past our bedtimes...we will be sorry for that in the morning!

Here are some pics of our little helper! Enjoy!

While we were upstairs sewing...I hear Anne yell, "My bunny is ready for her picture!" This is what I found...I love this girl! (I know this picture is a little dark, but it was too funny not to give you some kind of idea!)

I will be back soon with pictures of new bunnies...

C'est la Vie!

So, today was a very relaxing and fun day! Cyndi and I had our serger lesson, which went pretty well considering the lady was totally unfamiliar with our machine! We were all learning together, though. I had planned to take pictures of our day, but my battery was dead...C'est La Vie!

I did carry my vintage purse that I got a few years ago! I kind of forgot that I had it.

We made a day out of Hattiesburg....visiting Stein Mart and Calico Mall in downtown. This was our first trip to the antique mall, and I was quite impressed. It is 5 levels packed with everything you can think of! I just kept saying, "I remember my grandma had this!" It was a walk down memory lane....I encourage you to take one if you haven't in a while...

Before we came home, we had to visit the little french bakery that we had heard so much about. We walked in, so thankful they were open, and almost everything was already sold for the day. But right in front was two little fruit tarts with our names on them....yummmm! Here are a few photos since by now I had charged the camera! :)

Happy Saturday to all!

Today marks the 100th day of school!!!

That means we have less than half of this school year left. I am usually not one to wish away time, but these days I am not feeling quite myself. I feel like I have neglected the things I love this week...and that makes me feel very sad. I am soooooo looking forward to this long weekend, though. (Thank you Martin Luther King Jr.)

anyhoo...I am thrilled that tomorrow Cyndi and I are going for our serger lesson in the am. Hopefully, it's going to be a time saving machine! I really have no idea about it, except when we bought it, the lady said, "oh, it's really not bad when you get over the knife." At that moment Cyndi and I both had somewhat of a panicked look on our faces...if we are lucky, we will come home tomorrow with some new techniques and all of our phalanges(aka. fingers)!

Oh, I did mention that today was the 100th day of school. Here is a photo of most of my first grade class dressed as 100 year old people. They were completely adorable! I really do have some really sweet kiddos.

Oh, and Anne is going to be the flower girl in my cousin's wedding in March...We just bought the most precious flower girl dress off of etsy. I cannot wait 'til it gets here! Don't you think it will be precious? I am not sure what kind of shoes we need to wear if you have any suggestions, please share!!!

Well, I know this post has been really sporadic, but I guess that's what happens when I go a week without writing anything! Hope all is well, and I will hopefully post tomorrow to update about the serger!

Finally...NEW BOY BUNNIES!!!

We have been sewing our little fingers to the bone this weekend...and having an awesome time! Honestly, I don't think I even got dressed for two days...yikes! It was a good time, though.

here are the boys...(most of them, anyway. We are still working on several at the moment!)

new bean bag bunnies...

I even made a shopping bag last night. I needed a break from the bunnies!

sewing night...

Well, we were blessed with a 3 day weekend because of the cold weather...although, I will be really sad come Good Friday when we are in school to make it up.

On the bright side, this has given us lots of unexpected time to make more bunnies! I have been a little overwhelmed with how much everyone has loved them (which is definitely a great thing)....and a little worried that we will not have time to make enough for everyone! We will work diligently though and do what we can!

Tonight Cyndi, Adam, and I tagged teamed about 9 bunnies! Cyndi was sewing, I was turning arms-legs-ears, and Adam was doing the fastest stuffing I have ever seen! Here are a few pics from the night...
