work in progress

I mentioned the other day that Cyndi and I finally got to start on Anne's quilt.  Well, here's a little peek at what we've done thus far.  We made about 40 pinwheels using Moda fabric and white cotton and are now looking for the perfect fabric to use in between and as a border.  We're trying to decide if it needs to be a solid or a print (like a polka dot.)  What do you think?

  1. Aw...the quilt is going to be so sweet! I love pinwheels, and the fabrics you're using a really cute. I vote for a solid color for the sashing since you're using so many prints in the pinwheels. A light aqua/teal would look really good without being overwhelming.

  2. If given a choice I'll always vote for polka dots. In this case I think a tone-on-tone dot would look great. Something with a hint of polka dots and doesn't distract from those amazingly cute pinwheels.

  3. Great prints for pinwheels. My vote is for a white with tiny color polka dot for the sashing.

  4. If you don't go with a solid, use a tone-on-tone. Either would look lovely :D

  5. I love your pin wheels. the colours are gorgeous. I think a bright colour would make those pinwheels really pop. Maybe a watermelon pink???

  6. Love your pinwheel blocks. I think white would work well as sashing.
